When it is time to deactivate a book because distribution rights have expired, this can be done by sending an updated delivery that includes the appropriate ONIX takedown information (for example, adjusting the ProductAvailability value).
If you deliver content via the Publisher Portal, you can instead update the book’s status directly in the portal on the same book page where the title was originally added.
Please note that a grace period applies after deactivation. This means that users who have already started reading or listening to the book will be given additional time to finish it. The length of this period is defined in the agreement and is typically 30 days.
In some cases, a title may need to be manually removed by the Nextory Content Team. This applies if you usually deliver content via the Publisher Portal, but some titles were added through other methods.
Please be aware that changes do not apply immediately. It may take several hours for a book to be fully deactivated after a takedown is submitted.
